What's in a name?

"Kordóni" is the Greek word for "cord, string or shoelace"

In many cultures strings/cords and creating knots could be symbolic of nature, life cylces, good luck etc.

The Celtic knots are the most popular.  Each knot has a different meaning.  They can symbolize longevity, rebirth, or love.

In Chinese culture, the knot symbolizes good luck.  The red thread of fate also comes from Chinese mythology, symbolizing soul mates destined to meet each other.

Animes like to use the red thread of fate a lot for main characters.  In the movie "Your Name."  The red thread of fate had great significance.

"Musubi.  This word has profound meaning.  Typing thread is Musubi.  Connecting people is Musubi.  The flow of time is Musubi.  These are all the God's power.  So the braided cords that we make are the God's art and represent the flow of time itself.  They converge and take shape.  They twist, tangle, sometimes unravel, break, and then connect again.  Musubi-knotting.  That's time."

In Ancient Egypt, the knot symbolized the eternal life of the gods.

"Stretching the Cord"comes from a ritual that Ancient Egyptians used for surveying the land..this first knot on this cord is surveying information to set the boundaries for the truth
